Donna Vera (Davis) Willis

Donna Vera Willis was born on May 28, 1943, to Richard and Elsie Davis in the community of Emmanuel, Ok. She was the seventh child of ten children.

Donna attended college at SWOSU in Weatherford, Ok. For over ten years, Donna worked as a public educator for the Watonga Head Start Center until her retirement. Donna's belief in education was strong and she encouraged the importance of knowledge.

Donna was untied in marriage to Billie D. Willis, Sr. on October 8, 1961. To this union 4 children were born, Billie Jr., Kevin, Nicole, and Kerri. Donna also raised her two eldest granddaughters, Thia and Karise. Donna was a loving mother and worked 2-3 jobs to provide for her children and grandchildren. 

Donna gave her life to Christ at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church in Emmanuel, Ok. She was an active member at Union Baptist Church in Watonga, Ok. She served in the Women Missionary Society and on the Usher Board.

Donna entered the Gates of Heaven on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the age of 81, in Oklahoma City, Ok. In addition to her parents and late husband Billie Sr., Donna was preceded in death by three sisters: Della Mae Colbert, Erma jean Scott, and Shirlene Green.

Donna is survived by her children, Billie D. Willis Jr. (Melissa), Michol Kevin Willis, Elsie Nicole Winston, and Kerri Georgina Willis. She has 9 grandchildren, fourteen great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Donna is also survived by four sisters and two brothers. Donna has touched the hearts and minds of many children and adults. She will be sorely missed, and her memory will always be treasured.
