Edward Allen Cole, was born on March 18, 1951, in Kingfisher, Ok to Emery and Carolyn (Mack) Cole, and peacefully departed this life on February 13, 2024. He was the cherished 5th of 8 children. A testament to the warmth and vibrancy that defined his family upbringing.
Education was a cornerstone of Edward's life. He pursued his studies diligently, attending Kingfisher Public Schools and Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU! Go Bulldogs), where he delved into the field Medical Technology, a pursuit that reflected his commitment to helping others.
It was in Watonga, Ok that Edward found not only his home but also his heart. A fateful encounter at a Valentine's Party led him to his soulmate and best friend, Linda Kay Swanegan. Their union on November 17, 1973, marked the beginning of a love story that spanned five decades, a love that endured through every joy and challenge life presented.
For 37 years, Edward dedicated himself to the Watonga Municipal Hospital, where his compassion and expertise touched countless lives. His commitment to service extended beyond the hospital walls as he proudly served as a member of the Watonga Fire Department for over 20 years, embodying the spirit of selflessness and community.
Edward's faith was a guiding light throughout his journey, finding solace and purpose as a longstanding Union Baptist Church of Watonga member. His devotion to the Lord found expression through his resonant tenor voice in the church choir, uplifting congregations with his heartfelt praise.
Edward leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda Cole, and their three children: Tametra LaKayena Cole-Davis of Round Rock, Texas; Byron Allen Cole (Candace) of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and Sheria Denise Cole of Junction City, Kansas. His memory is cherished by nine grandchildren, four great-grandsons, two brothers, David (Penny) Cole of Houston, Texas, and Kevin Cole of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, one sister Carol Cole of Lawton, Oklahoma, and a multitude of relatives and friends.
In his passing, Edward rejoins his parents and four brothers, Emery Eugene, Ronald Dean, Emmet Byron, and Henry Lee in eternal peace. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and the love he shared. Edward Allen Cole will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
