Kevin Lyle Scroggins

Kevin Lyle Scroggins was born October 2, 1976, in Watonga, Oklahoma to Lois Jean Smith and Larry Eugene Scroggins Sr. Kevin was like both of his parents, loved by everyone he met, and no one was a stranger. Kevin attended Geary and Watonga Elementary Schools, Watonga Middle School and graduated from Watonga High School in 1995. He was a member of the Watonga Eagles Football team that won the state championship in ’93 and ’94 and the were runners up in ’92. He also played basketball and participated in track and field. After graduation Kevin went on to play football at NEO and Missouri Southern.

Kevin had his struggles in life but made a change and found joy in helping others at the Oxford House and CHC/SCK Clinic in Kansas. Kevin loved his family and his friends, and everyone loved him back through the good and the bad times. He lived his life the way he wanted to, with Gog always by his side. He always had that big infectious smile on his face.

God called one of his strongest soldiers home on November 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father Larry Eugene Scroggins, his mother Lois Jean Smith, grandparents Edward and Ruby Johnson, Enois and Nona Scroggins, Earnstene Stafford and Sandra Lee Davis, and his uncle Merrill Stafford.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Adrian and Tyler Scroggins and bonus son Gavin Howard; daughters Halle Scroggins and Ginger Weathers, brother Larry Scroggins; sisters Kenya Smith and Larnetta Scroggins, nephew Elijah James and his aunt LaShawn Davis. Also, his beloved Watonga Eagle Class of ’95 brothers and sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
