HER LIFE STORY

Karla Concetta Turner-Todd was born on July 31, 1972, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to her loving mother, Arlene Turner, and her father. Robert Lee Turner. She was raised in the Carverdale neighborhood, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed the strong spirit that would define her life.

From an early age, Karla displayed a natual love for music and performance. She studied piano under Mrs. Kimbro and participated in numerous piano recitals.

a proud member of Triple Threat, a well-known majorette team
representing the pride and talent of Oklahoma City's Eastside youth. she attended Frederick A. Douglass High school, where she served as a co-captain and later captain majorette for the Douglass High School Marching Band. Karla was also active in drama and a dedicated member of the award-winning Douglass High School Mass Choir under the direction of Mr. Hicks. She graduated proudly with the Class of 1990.
Following graduation. Karla continued her education at Rose State College. where she discovered her passion for social work and helping others. During this time welcomed her first son. Zakendrae Turner (September 29, 1990). Determined and hardworking. Karla balanced motherhood, school, and employment, working as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut. She was especially proud of her 1982 Cutlass, a car she loved and often spoke about with joy.
she later welcomed her second son, Zelijah Turner (June 26, 1993). while continuing her studies at Oklahoma City Community College. Karla's calling to serve others led her to emplovment with Lend A Hand, where
individuals and families throughout the Oklahoma City community.

During this chapter of her life, Karla met Wilbert Rattler Jr. Together they built a amily while she continued pursuing hergoals, welcoming their third son, Zyron Kater (september 20, 1999). Karla and Junior later married and made their home in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where they welcomed their fourth son, Zamry Rattler (March 3, 2003).
When her mother Arlene's health began to decline. Karla returned to Carverdale to care for her with devotion and love. The passing of her mother was a profound loss especially as an only child, vet Karla's strength never wavered. She remained steadfast in raising her sons, guiding them with love, determination, and unwavering support as they grew into adulthood.
Becoming a grandmother brought Karla inimense joy and fulfillment. She welcomed her first granddaughter, Zamya Turner affectionately known as -MyMy. followed by her second granddaughter, Zerlyah Turner - both born to her second son Zelijah. She later welcomed her third granddaughter, Za’Talaya Rattler, born to her youngest son Zamry, cherishing every moment spent with her growing family.
Later in life. Karla rekindled her friendship with Ronald Todd, and together the found enduring love and companionship. They were united in marriage on March 18.
2023. sharing a bond rooted in friendship. laughter, and mutual devotion.
Karla enjoyed dancing and doing karaoke with her lamily. She loved to laugh and had: few jokes that could be laughed at for years. Karla loved to twirl her baton and found joy in rhythm.
Karla Concetta Turner-Todd departed this life on April 27. 2026.
Karla was a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and compassion she
possessed a heart overflowing with love. protected by the armor built through life’s trials and triumphs. she was truly one of a kind - a woman whose presence could never be replaced and whose impact will forever remain.

She leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted daughter, niece, cousin, sister-cousin mother.
wife, grandmother, and friend. Her memory will live on in the lives she
touched. the family she cherished, and the love she freely gave.
Rest peacefully. Karla. Your love and legacy will continue through generations to come.
